Do American Companies Still Conduct Animal Testing?

by Schmidt's Naturals

Did you know that testing cosmetics on animals is still legal in North America? It's true, and this often catches people by surprise--when customers ask us what we mean when we say Schmidt's is cruelty-free, they often tell us that they can hardly believe in this day and age that animal testing is still allowed on cosmetics. Many just assume that we've moved on from this practice! While over 30 countries have banned this type of testing, North America has yet to act on this important issue--unfortunately, this means that many deodorants and other cosmetics on the market are currently tested on animals.

But there is hope! The Humane Cosmetics Act (HCA), which would restrict cosmetic testing on animals, has recently made significant legislative progress in the USA and Canada. We're now closer than ever to putting a stop to this type of testing, and by showing our support for the HCA, we can help make this a reality!

Will you join us?

Thankfully, the Humane Society of the United States has made it easy for citizens to lend our voices to the conversation. If you agree with this cause, we encourage you to show your support.

Ever wonder why Schmidt's products have a bunny on them? That means our products and every single ingredient in them are certified cruelty-free by the Leaping Bunny program which is operated by the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics.
