In honor of the event, Schmidt’s Naturals' new philanthropic arm—Schmidt + Co. Foundation—has donated $5,000 to JGI, aligning with Schmidt + Co. Foundation’s ambitions to support healthy people, healthy animals, and a healthy planet.
"We are proud to be charitable partners with the Jane Goodall Institute," Cammarata says. "Helping people change the way they think about the natural world is a part of our purpose. Contributing to Dr. Goodall's mission to change people's perceptions of the relationship between humans and animals is just one small step we can take to act."
Building on decades of ongoing research stemming from Dr. Goodall’s initial innovative work studying animal conservation, the Jane Goodall Institute continues the field research at Gombe, Tanzania. Its research recognizes the central role that people play in the well-being of animals and the environment.
Traveling on average up to 300 days per year—at 83 years young, no less—Dr. Goodall emphasizes the interconnectedness of all living things and the collective power of individual action.
“Gombe 2020: Tomorrow & Beyond” takes place in San Francisco, and will feature music by Dave Matthews.
